Dragon's Eye Rogoznica

If you're looking for a shorter hike during the warm summer months, this destination is ideal. Multiple trails lead to the Dragon’s Eye Lake, and you can begin your journey from anywhere in Rogoznica, depending on how long and how far you want to walk. The charming town of Rogoznica is perfect for a leisurely stroll, offering plenty of spots to pause for a coffee or an ice cream break along the way.
Punta Planka / Kapelle sv. Ivan
The chapel sits at the tip of a scenic peninsula, accessible by both walking and cycling paths. From House Mara in Ražanj, it's just a 3-kilometer direct route. For those looking to explore further, other starting points are available, including routes that pass by the picturesque Ražanj harbor, offering a more scenic journey to the chapel.
Krka National Park
Located near the city of Šibenik, Krka National Park is just 50 kilometers from Ražanj—about a one-hour drive. The park is renowned for the Krka River, which meanders through the landscape, creating seven spectacular waterfalls. Markezina Greda & Kaštel Sućurac
Markezina Greda is a renowned climbing area located about 10 kilometers from the city of Split. In addition to its numerous challenging climbing routes, it also offers excellent bouldering opportunities.
In the nearby town of Kaštel Sućurac, there are also many opportunities for bouldering.
Markezina Greda is around 55 kilometers from Ražanj, with a drive of just over an hour. For those heading to Kaštel Sućurac, the distance is about 40 kilometers.
National Park Paklenica
Paklenica National Park stands out as one of Croatia’s premier climbing destinations, renowned for its stunning coastal location. The expansive canyon boasts approximately 590 well-marked and equipped climbing routes catering to all skill levels. In addition to its impressive climbing routes, the park offers numerous bouldering opportunities, providing climbers with a diverse range of challenges.
Paklenica National Park is located approximately 130 kilometers from Ražanj, and is easily accessible by car in about 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Climbing
Marjan
Marjan Hill is a climbing area situated in the heart of Split. At the upper part of the hill, you'll find a cliff approximately 500 meters long and 15-30 meters high, featuring 76 climbing routes across various difficulty levels.
This climbing area is located approximately 55 kilometers from Ražanj, with a drive typically taking just over an hour. Travel time may vary depending on traffic conditions in Split.
Čikola Canyon
The Čikola River has carved out a stunning canyon featuring high rock faces on both the north and south sides, perfect for climbing. This climbing area includes 10 distinct sectors, offering a total of 360 routes across various difficulty levels.
Čikola Canyon is about 60 kilometers from Ražanj and can be reached by car in just over an hour.
Omiš
The town of Omiš, situated at the mouth of the Cetina River and surrounded by dramatic cliffs and gorges, is a favorite destination for climbers. The Omiš climbing area boasts over 270 routes across various difficulty levels, providing countless opportunities for climbers. Those in search of breathtaking cliffs and spectacular views will find plenty to explore here.
The climbing area features 14 distinct sectors, most of which are easily accessible. Omiš is approximately 70 kilometers from House Mara. If you’re driving from Ražanj, expect the journey to Omiš to take about 1.5 hours.
Cliffbase Hvar
The Cliffbase Hvar (Suplja Stina) climbing area is located on the southern side of Hvar Island, right by the sea. It features over 100 routes across all difficulty levels. Renowned as one of the top climbing destinations in Croatia, this area is also family-friendly.
Hvar Island is accessible by ferry from the city of Split. From Ražanj, it's roughly 120 kilometers to the climbing area. Plan for a total travel time of about 3 hours, including the ferry ride.
IMPORTANT: The climbing area is located on private property. Prior registration and payment are required.
Smokovlje
Smokovlje is a new climbing area located near the town of Bol on the island of Brač. It currently offers 18 routes, with plans for future expansion.
Smokovlje is about 150 kilometers from Ražanj. From House Mara, plan for a journey of approximately 4 hours, which includes a ferry ride from the mainland to Brač Island.

Wir waren im Mai nur für ein paar Tage dort in Kroatien und es war ganz wunderbar. So gar nix los, Vorsaison eben! Sonniges Traumwetter, eine zauberhafte Landschaft und ein kleiner Ort erwarteten uns. Es gibt viele Ausflugsziele in der näheren Umgebung, direkt vor der Haustür starten Wanderrouten immer mit tollem Blick auf das Meer. Ein Mietwagen ist allerdings Pflicht, dann erreicht man die verwunschensten Stellen. Wir waren nicht das letzte Mal dort… und das sagt doch schon alles!
